April has had multiple updates across the Office 365 services and the introduction of two new subscription offers. You can now subscribe to Office 365 Personal, the perfect subscription for an individual. OneDrive for Business is now available at special introductory rates. Both Office for iPad and Office Online received updates based on your feedback as to the most important features. Leave us a comment to let us know what your favorite new feature is. Office 365 Personal, Office 365 Home, and Office 365 University updates:

Office 365 Personal – Office 365 Personal is a new subscription offer now available for purchase. It allows one PC or Mac and one tablet to be connected to the service. Estimated retail price is $69.99 USD/year or $6.99 USD/month.

Office for iPad now includes printing – Word, PowerPoint, and Excel now support printing from your iPad. Other updates include your top feature requests, such as SmartGuides in PowerPoint and AutoFit in Excel.

Outlook.com import tool for Yahoo Mail – Outlook.com users can now easily import their email from Yahoo Mail with a new streamlined tool and connect their Yahoo account so that contacts appear in Outlook.com.

OneNote API – Developers can now let their services work with your notes. Check out two new integrations with Epson and Zapier.

OneNote for iPad update – OneNote for iPad has been redesigned for iOS 7 with a new unified look and feel that is similar to the rest of the new Office for iPad apps. Office Lens is a new feature that turns OneNote into a portable scanner to help you better capture pictures of paper, whiteboards, and any type in the physical world.

PowerPoint and YouTube – A recent update has re-enabled support for inserting YouTube videos natively into PowerPoint presentations.

OneNote for Android update – This update untethers OneNote on Android, enabling you to create new notebooks, create and delete sections, and improved pasting from the clipboard.

Word Online update – This update includes improvements for editing comments now in the editing view, new options for managing lists, ability to create and edit footnotes and endnotes, and easier PDF download and print.

Excel Online update – This update now supports more commenting improvements, you can create new comments, edit and delete existing comments. Now you can edit Excel files that contain VBA without changing or removing the VBA. You can hide and unhide rows and columns.

PowerPoint Online update – A newly improved text editor now renders your text the same way as it will appear with size, alignment, and other customizations maintained it editing mode. New Tell Me integration so you can search for that hard to find features, and inline YouTube video playback for embedded videos.

OneNote Online update – Now you can print your notes from OneNote Online with the new Print tab. Also navigation has improved with a multi-column, collapsible navigation pane to make working on small screen devices easier.

Office 365 for business updates*:

OneDrive for Business standalone subscription now available – OneDrive for Business is now available as a standalone subscription with special introductory rates for new customers. OneDrive for Business is already included in Office 365 suite and SharePoint Online subscriptions.

Managing change with Message Center – Message Center has been redesigned based on customer feedback to provide more information in three categories: Prevent and fix issues, Plan for change, and Stay informed.

OneNote for iPad update – OneNote for iPad has been redesigned for iOS 7 with a new unified look and feel that is similar to the rest of the new Office for iPad apps. Exchange Online Protection enhancements: part 2 – EOP is adding user access to spam quarantine, DKIM support, improved IPv6, automatic subdomain mail routing, and the ability to manage users in hybrid scenarios.

Office 365 operated by 21Vianet becomes generally available in China – Microsoft and 21Vianet have partnered together to bring Office 365 to the Chinese mainland with new local data centers and operations based in China.

EU privacy authorities approve Microsoft’s cloud commitments – EU regulators have said that Microsoft cloud services, including Office 365, meet the rigorous standards of European Union privacy law.

Please note that some of the updates may take time to show up in your Office 365 account, because they’re being rolled out to customers worldwide.
